The Voice and Care of the Professional Voice – Providing the most modern developments in voice analysis and treatment
Here at London ENT Surgeons we use the newest and most advanced equipment to visualise the vocal folds and their movements. With high definition screens and stroboscopic equipment that slows the vibrations of your vocal folds down by a factor of 500, we can see the tiniest detail in and around the larynx that may be causing your voice problem.

A vocal fold cyst under high magnification
There are many causes for vocal problems and therefore many different solutions, whether medical or surgical. We employ microscopic laryngeal surgery to carry out any surgery that may be needed and use a range of cutting edge techniques including the use of collation for some conditions. This is a machine that melts away the offending lump at low temperatures using a plasma field. This means almost no thermal damage to the delicate structures of the vocal folds and results have been excellent.
An example of the detail picked up with our equipment pre-operatively

Seemingly normal looking vocal folds

The right vocal fold rolled over to reveal a tiny telangiectasia (blood vessel)
That was the source of the vocal problem in this patient

Extreme care is taken to meticulously dissect out the offending vessel

The space created by the dissection is filled with a dissolvable gel instead of using stitches to aid healing.
This patient returned singing full musical theatre performances very successfully.
